ΩThe International Albrecht Dürer Prize – Monte Carlo, 1983
On March 29, 1983, Luis Navarro was awarded the International Albrecht Dürer Prize by the International Arts Guild in Monte Carlo. This distinction, named after the German Renaissance master Albrecht Dürer, honored Navarro’s artistic career and his role in fostering cultural exchanges across nations.
The diploma, sealed with the Guild’s emblem, linked Navarro’s Navarresque Surrealism to Dürer’s legacy of innovation and cross-European dialogue. The Guild’s mission was not only to celebrate artistic excellence but also to highlight art as a universal language capable of transcending borders.
For Navarro, receiving this award placed him among a select circle of international artists recognized for contributing to global cultural heritage. It confirmed his vision of painting as a bridge between Spain, France, and the wider world.
